How to get your FREE pencil

...when you're not placing an order for other merchandise, too

The easiest way to get a free pencil is to place an order for Pen is Central merchandise, then use the special members-only page to add a free pencil to your order form. But if you don't want to do that, here's how to get one by sending us a stamped, self-addressed shipping envelope.

Follow these simple steps...

Using this form,
reserve your pencil.

Fill in your name and e-mail address.

Click Send.

If we have no more pencils (unlikely, but you never know), we will e-mail you telling you so.

If we do still have pencils, we will e-mail you, then put one pencil aside and await your shipping envelope. (If you like to live dangerously, just send along your envelope without waiting for our confirmation. Heavens!)

We'll wait up to one week before returning the reserved pencil to the main stock.

Dear Jim W. (Webmaster):

Hi! I'm about to send you a stamped, self-addressed shipping envelope. Please use it to send me my free pencil. I understand and agree that I should wait 2 days for your confirming e-mail before I send the shipping envelope. This saves me postage if you happen to have run out of pencils for this limited-time offer.

Sincerely,

Name:

Send a sturdy mailing envelope or tube to this address:

PhD Home Pages/Jim W.
Attn.: Free pencil offer
PO Box 151365
San Diego CA 92175-1365

The envelope or tube must have enough room inside for an 8-inch pencil (7.5 inches plus half an inch padding).

It must be addressed to yourself.

It must have enough U.S. postage to cover first class postage from California to your address. (At the time of writing, that's 34 cents for the first ounce and 23 cents for each additional ounce in the United States.) This is probably the same as the postage you needed to mail us the shipping envelope to us.

We will e-mail you once we ship your free pencil to you.

Enjoy!
