I go over to a guy with long hair in a wheelchair. I can't tell if he has his pants on or not. He's very "up", alert, and smiling.
Did you go in the race?
Yes, I did.
Did you run in the race?
Well, in my chair, yeah.
Was this the first time you did this?
No, I did it last year.
I did it last year and the year before. This year, I'm too tired.
Oh, yeah? it was a lot of fun. It was a blast; I loved it!
You must have some arms!
Well, I'm working on it! Last year, I had someone push me; I was able to do it myself this year.
Oh, great! Did you work out specifically so you could do that?
No, but I always had it in my mind that I was going to.
So do you think the Naked Mile helps promote physical fitness?
Absolutely!
It did for me. I trained so I would be sure I could make a mile!
You could say that, yeah!
So what about the cops?
I don't know; they really haven't bothered anybody this year. As long as they don't mess with the people, I'm fine with them. You know, as long as they let it happen, it's cool. Just don't mess with the runners. I'd love to talk to more but I've got to try to find my pants!
