Jim's "Naked Mile" Photos 1998

Samples Page 1 (free)

Overview

The photos shown here are free, because they contain no pen ises.

For simplicity, they are shown only in middle size.
(On the subscriber pages, clicking on a photo takes to you a much larger version.)

Yes, a local TV station showed up.

The wait takes forever. Everyone mills around and waits to see what everyone else is doing. Lots of upper bodies to look at, though!

Groups rush to the start to avoid being left out or missing the action.

The guy in the middle is nude under his "saran wrap" coat. You can see him close up in the next set of pictures.

Some guys dance around and have a good time. I had thought they must be under the influence of large quantities of Gatorade -- but this fellow wrote me and said he was stone cold sober. Wonderful!

Protective knots of teammates form around the guys who are actually stripping. Notice the guy on the far right is about to take off his shirt.

A couple of guys take off well before anyone else does. It's good they know the route, since the crowd presses in and basically blocks the way.

Team members often wear headgear or costume pieces representing their team. The blue cap seems to be water polo. The green cap -- is that golf? Or just a joke? It's also interesting to see what young men are wearing for underpants these days. Boxer shorts seem to be much more popular than when I was their age.

Body-painted slogans are common.
This fellow is sharing his opinion of disco.

Below is what the runners face in the spectator department. Spectators DO get out of your way, kind of, when you run toward them. But there's a lot of walking during the run.

Even very dim photos (below left) can be computer-enhanced to showat least the outlines of the activities (right).

Alas, this fellow never got naked -- as far as I know.

Maybe next year? Let's hope so!

Check out the wig!

There are wonderful sights everywhere.

Free t-shirts were handed out at the end. But the demand overwhelmed the supply. Below, some empty boxes.

Next page of samples.
