Mr. GNI Contest

The contestants wait backstage for the contest to begin. But their feet are barely (!) visible beneath the curtain.

Click on a picture to see a bigger version. To do so, you need to be a subscriber if the photo has an S beneath it (most do).
Some of these photos will be available, with commentary to everyone (including non-subscribers) at some point in the future when I get around to it.
If you appear in one of these photos, forgive me for misplacing your e-mail address or for being behind in my letter-writing. Write to me, tell me the names of the photos in which you appear, and I'll e-mail you copies of the large versions.
It is my impression that everyone who appears here has consented to do so, either orally or in writing. If I am mistaken (or you've changed your mind) and you do not want to appear on these pages, just write me and I'll make you unidentifiable or remove your photo entirely.
In particular, the contestants this year who were willing to appear all signed a model release, which specified that I would donate a portion of the proceeds from people paying to visit this page to GNI. Since that time, I have eliminated the mechanism (tokens) which would make that calculation precise, and instead have decided that, if enough paying members request it (and I expect that they will), I will donate $100 to GNI in the year 2000. See the last page of this series of contest photos for details. ($100 is almost certainly far more than would have been generated by the token mechanism.)
