Cabin Decorations

Gathering attendees who can drive to the Gathering can load up their vans with all kinds of stuff -- and many of them do! Each year the cabin decorations seem to get more elaborate than the year before. Check out these samples and marvel at the cleverness, creativity, and taste (well, sometimes the taste!) of the campers involved.

Instead of the thumbnail/enlargement strategy, we've put here medium-sized enlargements of each cabin. If you have limited memory for your browser, you may wish to turn off automatic downloading of graphics, then download each picture one by one.

The smokestack running right up the middle under the eaves is difficult to make out in this picture.

The Weenie Belle claimed to have won the "Best Cabin" award. However, there was no such competition and they "awarded" it to themselves!

The Sperm Bank's signs indicate "Interest compounded daily" and "Deposits welcome." They had some ATM machines (for deposits and withdrawals, of course) scattered throughout the camp.

The Bears & Leather cabin showed off -- what else? -- bears and leather.

Lola's Gathering Café


Lola's café is open and ready for business. They were doling out lemonade during the Buckeye Boys auction (see below).

This cabin distributed "Buckeye Boys Bucks" to people and cabins they liked -- for whatever reason, such as a clever costume or great dancing or.... whatever. Others picked up BB Bucks by hook or by crook (trips to a copy shop were rumored). Then they used them to purchase "slaves" at the slave auction (see other pages, coming soon).

The Sum Yung Gais cabin was festively decorated to resemble a Chinese restaurant.

Interstate 395 cabin

These fellows carefully coned off their cabin as a danger zone, and no doubt had a fine entry in the "Truck Stop" cocktail party!
