Strange music is heard issuing from 45's placed on sturdy turntables in the open air, dual non-stereo speakers appear as if by magic, and pen ises and buttbuns are seen bouncing in carefully choreographed patterns wondrous to behold and even more delightful to participate in. If you want to engage in this infuckingcredible event, take heart! Just hop to it and join a (gay or straight) square dance club, take lessons, and by the end of August -- the date of the northern-California "peel-Off in the Sierras" -- you'll be strutting and squaring with the best of 'em! Even if you're a slow learner, you'll be ready for the Palm Springs Peel-Off next May and have a lot of fun in the meantime. Don't put it off any longer -- sign up today!
