On Sunday, September 27, 1998, fans of public pen ises got to see two public events on two sides of San Francisco Bay: noon-time in the "How Berkeley Can You Be?" parade -- in Berkeley, obviously -- and until 6 PM at the Folsom Street Festival (held, just as obviously, on Folsom Street in San Francisco proper). A week later, there was another event with public pen ises on Castro Street, at the Castro Street Fair. Whew!

We have a detailed description of all three events. And we've added a whiz-bang (well, it's pretty lame), extremely sophisticated (well, it's got a 2-cel animation and two sounds) QuickTime movie which gives you the idea (if you've got a good imagination) of what it's like to hand out dollars for dicks on Castro Street. You won't want to miss this (unless you're a busy guy and have to get dinner sometime)!!!!!

You can tell this must be Berkeley, because of the bicycle and the helmet. This trim fellow joined us partway through the parade. He loved it!

This is the head honchette (and de facto Artistic Director) of Berkeley's X-Plicit Players -- Deb Moore -- taking me under her wing as I take off my pants just before the parade begins.

It may have been raining men on Folsom Street this afternoon, but if so it made things too wet and cold for most pen is owners to show off their equipment. But this didn't stop the hardy and the foolhardy -- and we've got the pix!

At this boot-polishing stand, both the customers (sir!) and the polishers (boy!) let it all hang out. Pretty cool, eh?

This is me on Castro Street, right after stripping naked and then putting on my helpful poster boards. It was tough -- damn tough, at first -- to convince people I was serious.

With friends like this to pull your pants down, who needs enemies? This guy flashed himself, then de-pants-ed two or three of his friends. Whew!!
