And the god of gay male naturism said: Let the Gathering begin!

And it did. Camp opened at 1:30 PM on Sunday, and despite sweltering heat and humidity, clothes were shucked and the fun began. Here are the dopest, freshest photos of the 1997 Gay Naturists International (GNI) Gathering you can find anywhere!

We apologize for the poor quality of most of these photos when viewed in large size. Our new digital camera was set on "Average" quality all day. Starting with Monday's pictures, we used "Better" quality.

For many of us, the Gathering began when the bus from Newark Airport dropped us off at the Pocono campground. The bus was air conditioned, but the Poconos were not. The logical solution? Take off your clothes!

For me, however, the Gathering began the day before. I flew into town late, then drove to a motel, where I wasted no time testing the autofocus system of my digital camera. Does it focus on the mirror or on my body? You be the judge.

From off the bus it's on to "The Barn" for registration, where GNI board member Bill is waiting to greet us. Some of us call him "Big Bill" because he's so tall.
Yeah, right!

As you leave the barn, you see that even though camp has been open only an hour, guys are already naked and the parking lot is nearly full.
And it's starting to smell like rain. Yikes!

The theme for the afternoon's cocktail party, starting at 5, was Down on the farm. Is this what someone means when they say that they have become too attached to their pets??

Gosharootee, Gomer, what have we here? A genuine, certified, young, dumb, and full of kkum farmhand?
Well, actually, he's not that young, not at all dumb, and we can't vouch for any kkum (although we wish we could!). But he was there and sure lookin' purdy at the cocktail party!

The t-shirt reads FARM NAKED AMERICA. The model is wearing clothes because it was friggin' cold Monday evening because of the rain! Oh, well, it helped with the crops, eh?
